Welcome to 1st Grade at Roger B. Chaffee Elementary! Some things that students will learn this school year are: adding, subtracting, shapes, place value, writing, learning to read, and to work together as a team.

I also coach our Greenpower team alongside Mrs. McDonnell. The club is for 4th and 5th graders to learn about engineering, team work, and technical skills. It is a great club and we plan to get better every year. This will be my 3rd year coaching the team.

This is my ninth year with Huntsville City Schools and seventh year at Chaffee. This is my first year in 1st grade. I have taught pre-k for one year and 3rd grade for sixth before moving to 1st grade. Let's go Eagles!

My husband and I are from West Virginia, so we are Mountaineer and Herd fans. We have been here for 12 years. My husband served in the Army for 8 years and did 3 deployments. We are happy that we have been able to settle down here. I never thought I would live here in "Roll Tide" country.

Outside of the classroom you might see me with my husband and three children. I have 1 kid in High School and 2 in College. We also have two fur babies. One is a Pomeranian and the other a chocolate lab. Our family enjoys karaoke, movie night, and traveling.
