II look forward every year to meeting the incoming freshmen and helping them achieve personal and academic success in their journey to graduation. It's an honor, four short years later, to watch them walk across the stage at the Von Braun to receive their diplomas. In my personal time, I enjoy reading and traveling with my husband and two teenage sons. I am also fortunate to have two adult daughters with wonderful husbands and three grandsons to enjoy.

I have worked for the Alabama State Department of Education for over 18 years as a certified English teacher. I have primarily taught "at-risk" youth in both non-traditional and residential educational settings in Huntsville and Madison cities. Before my teaching career, I worked as a Space Camp Program Manager for the US Space and Rocket Center.
