My name is Andrew Hamiter and I began teaching physical education at Chapman in 2017. I enjoy spending a significant amount of time playing chess and doing all things outdoors including rock climbing, fishing, and searching the Southeast for undiscovered rock climbing. I am also a musician and have played guitar for over 20 years in a variety of bands including rock and heavy metal bands, and even a country band. I am also involved in all sports coached at Chapman. I am currently the head volleyball coach, and head track coach. My philosophy of education is that health and movement is for life. If we do not take our bodies and exercise our heart and lungs, we cannot live our best lives. I enjoy giving students quality health and physical education knowledge and skill practice, so they can leave my classroom with the tools to live a healthy and successful life.
