My name is Janet Cobb-Sullivan and this is my 9th year teaching but my first year at Huntsville High. Born and raised in North Carolina, I have lived in most of the states in the southeast, moving to Alabama just over a year ago. Joining me are my husband of over 20 years, my four daughters, and a few pets. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, board/card games and exploring the outdoors.

SCIENCE ROCKS! My hope is that every student can experience the magic of science through a variety of engaging hands-on activities, and I hope to teach my students to embrace the value of making mistakes. My room is a safe space for all students to explore science in the world around them.

Experience

Before starting my teaching career, I worked at Georgia Tech and various small technology start-ups. I served in a dual role as both a research scientist and a process engineer. One of my many responsibilities in my role as process engineer was to train students in lab practices. While I had often thought about a career change, I didn't take the leap until my family moved to South Carolina. There I began my teaching career and have previously taught AP Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, General Chemistry, Integrated Science, STEM, Astronomy and Science-7. This is my first year at Huntsville High where I will be teaching Chemistry, Physical Science and Earth/Space Science. I am located in the main building, room 153.
