I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. I started learning music at an early age from my sister who took piano lessons, and I have taught others how to play the piano since I was 15 years old. My family served as missionaries in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina until 2008. I helped rebuild music programs at a few churches and I worked part time as a ballet accompanist at Tulane University. I've published several books, including a book of music to be used for ballet class titled, "Ballet Potpourri," and a children's book titled, "The Girl Who Wouldn't Eat Her Vegetables." I have three grown children and one grandchild. I enjoy my family and my church. My hobbies include sewing, gardening, face painting and performing on piano.
