My name is Karen Anderson and I am a Physical Education teacher at Mtn Gap P-8. I started my working career as a clinical therapist in an Occupational Clinic in Opelika, Alabama. After 1 year in this profession, I decided I wanted to follow in my sisters footsteps and become a Physical Education teacher. I enrolled in Auburn and received a teaching certification and Masters degree in Physical Education. I accepted my first teaching job at Opelika Middle School and taught there for 3 years. Living in Auburn, Alabama for 10 years was wonderful but decided it was time to widen my horizons so I moved to Huntsville and became a substitute teacher. I soon accepted a job at Mountain Gap Middle school and have been here for 23 years. I am married with 3 SUPER kids who all attend or have attended Mountain Gap.
