Greetings everyone,
My name is Michelle Scott. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I have a blended family of 5 with the youngest being my daughter JaySonnah. When I am not working, I love to inspire, sing, read, travel, and create new ideas. This is my 8th year in education and my 1st year as an Assistant Principal. I am excited and honor to start this new journey with my new family at MLK!

B.S in both Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Alabama

Experience

Throughout my years of teaching, I have held a vast number of leadership positions(Leadership Team Leader, Grade Level Leader, Reading and Math Lead teacher, New Teacher Mentor Coordinator, Schoology Lead Teacher, Coordinator of the PBIS and Character Education, etc). I was also named Alabama Innovative Technology Teacher of the Year (2019-2020) and Alabama Teacher of the Year(2020-2021). In addition, I taught 3rd grade Reading and Writing for three years and taught 2nd grade for four years.
