I have had the privilege of teaching English at New Century Technology High School since 2000. Though I started my career in the basement of Calhoun Community College (our first home) as a tenth grade teacher, I have taught at every grade level. Currently I teach seniors in English 12 and AP Literature and Composition. I am an avid reader and sometimes writer of poetry. I have had two short articles and a few poems published, and someday I WILL write that novel. Until then, I will do my utmost to pass on my love of words to my students. I have three grown children and four grandchildren and tens of hundreds of kids whom I have taught and consider my own.

Some may think me a tad eccentric because of my extensive collection of holiday sweaters and my mild obsession with cats, but mostly I am just known as Mrs. SO. Probably the most important thing to know about me is that I care. I care that my "kids" learn. I care that they build confidence. I care that they succeed and grow as students and individuals, but mostly I care about them.
