My name is Mary-Beirne Vela, I was born in Huntsville, Alabama but have lived in several other states (Colorado, Georgia, Florida, and New York). I relocated back to Huntsville in 2015 after living else where for 26 years. I am married (22 years) with four children. My two daughters are currently attending Huntsville City Schools and my two boys are attending colleges away in Florida and Pennsylvania. My childhood dream was to be a teacher – for various reasons I did not fulfill that dream until receiving my Masters in New York where I finally got to make the career change that now has me exactly where I have always wanted to BEE: a McDonnell Busy Bee Collaborative (Special Education) Teacher.
