When I graduated from high school several years ago, I wanted to be a journalist or a coach. I have been blessed to do both. I was a sportswriter for 27 years, including 23 at the Huntsville Times. Almost nine years ago, I moved into the education arena at Monrovia Elementary School and I am entering my fifth year as a member of the Providence Elementary School staff. My wife, Pat, and I have two sons, Jordan and Justin. Jordan is the Sports Information Director at Tuskegee University, while Justin is a PE teacher at Chestnut Grove Elementary School in Decatur and also the freshman boys basketball coach at Austin High School. In my spare time, I enjoy lifting weights, talking sports, reading and writing.
