Kelly Gatzke
Hello! I am very excited to be the new Library Media Specialist at Ridgecrest! I am a mom of two, Amelia and Cameron, and have been married to my husband Ben for over twenty years. We are a former military family and have lived all over the United States thanks to the Army. Alabama is the 8th state we have lived in (some of them twice)! In my spare time, I love to just be with my family, research my family tree, and try new restaurants. In the last year I have visited Ireland and the Dominican Republic and hope to travel again soon!
I attended the Universidad de Sevilla in Spain for my junior year of college. I am brushing on my Spanish and love that so many of our students help me!
While we were stationed in Kentucky, I worked at an elementary school as an IEP assistant and was inspired to become a librarian. I completed my Masters in Library and Information Science, but I have worked in schools in many different capacities since my children were little. I am looking forward to having your kiddos in the Ridgecrest library and further their love of reading!
