I was raised in south FL and have lived in Huntsville for the past 4 years. I graduated magna cum laude from Florida Atlantic University and have been teaching for over 10 years. I live here with my husband and dog, Buddy, and my stepdaughter Kyleigh is in her sophomore year of college back in FL. I am absolutely in love with penguins. Something about how they stick together and create a community resonates with me. Plus, they are adorable when they waddle!

Being a seasoned teacher, my decision to go into this profession was one of the best life choices I have made. I want to make sure that each and every one of my students is reached and feels a connection to learning the way I do. Most importantly, I want to ignite a passion for growth, not just as students but as members of our community, as my former educators have done for me. One of my favorite parts of teaching is what I call the “ah ha” moment. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing my students accomplish their goals and getting the chance to experience the feeling when everything clicks. In my class we have a saying, “You work harder to get smarter”. Building my classroom environment around this ideal and growth mindset, fuels my students to reach for the stars and that their dreams are within reach.
