Julia Henderson
Welcome to Studio 142!
My name is Julia Henderson, and I have been teaching art at Williams since 2015. I was born and raised in the Huntsville area, and I moved to Florence after graduating from Bob Jones High School in 2007. My family moved back to the Madison area in 2018 and I'm so glad to be back in my hometown. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three kids who attend Williams Elementary. Other than being an artist, my passions include advocating for social justice, listening to music, taking care of my house plants, and wishing I could buy everything at Target.
I believe in fostering a growth mindset in my classroom and teaching every kid that enters my room that they can do anything as long as they put their time, effort, and positive energy into it. I have loved seeing students grow in their artistic abilities even when they come in saying "I can't draw" or "I can't do this." While teaching art is my job, my number one goal is to teach my kiddos how to be a good human. I absolutely love my job and can't wait for another great year of creating!
"It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings." – Ann Landers
