Dr. Jones was born and raised in Lawrence County. He is married to the lovely Lucita Jones and they have three children, Maurice, Tierra and Kiamsha.

Dr. Jones has been an educator for over 25 years. During those years, he has served as an special education aide, elementary teacher, assistant principal, principal, supervisor, and as the assistant men's basketball coach at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
