Walter Walker
Greetings all, let me introduce myself. I am a Louisiana native, from the small town of Dry Prong, definitely out in the country. As a young lad, my passion was basketball where I was honored to play on two state championship teams. After graduating from college, I was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Field Artillery and after retirement I moved back to my hometown and take over the JROTC program. After ten years in that position, I took a position as a DOD contractor and did this line of work for about 10 years. I decided it was time to give back to the community and do so by doing something I love, teach math. I strongly believe in my students and encourage them to strive to achieve the best in whatever path in life they choose. I never give up on any student because each student is good at something, it may not be math, but it may be another area in education. Regardless, I encourage them and give advice when they seek it. I believe it is critical for parents to be involved in their student's education. I welcome any questions or contact from parents, no question regarding your student's education is unimportant to me. Additionally, I am the Head Wrestling Coach at Columbia, and this role brings me much pride as I have several wrestlers that have risen to the top in Alabama wrestling.
