Hello Challenger Elementary School staff and community!

My name is Miranda McFadden, and I am thrilled to be the Assistant Principal at Challenger Elementary for this school year.

My favorite things include spending quality time with my family, running with my dog, and baking in the fall.

I have high expectations for this school year. Focusing on students drives my career, and I am excited to be a leader at Huntsville City Schools and work at Challenger Elementary. Let’s soar into the new school year together!

Thank you for your support, and I look forward to working with all of you!

Experience

I began my education career in 2017 with Huntsville City Schools, teaching first grade for six years before transitioning out of the classroom into a leadership role as an ARI Reading Specialist. In this position, I focused on building a strong foundation for literacy and supporting the Alabama Literacy Act. I hold certifications in Tier 3 SPIRE & Sound Sensible training, as well as LETRS and LEXIA Science of Reading training. In 2023 I completed the Instructional Leadership Academy led by HCS school leaders, which has prepared me to support our school, district, and most importantly, our students. I hold an M.A.ED in Instructional Leadership from the University of North Alabama and a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood P-3 and K-6 Elementary Education.
