I taught in the general education classroom at Lakewood Elementary for four years and this is my fifth year as Lakewood's G.A.T.E. teacher. Lakewood is definitely my home! I earned my Master's degree in gifted education from Samford University in May of 2020. I love being the G.A.T.E. teacher because I get to visit ALL the students throughout the day. I get to collaborate with all of the teachers here at Lakewood as well as collaborate with the other Huntsville City School Gifted Teachers. My husband, Joe, and I have two boys. My oldest is 19 and my baby, yes my baby, is 14. They keep us very busy and teach us a lot about patience, time management, and keeping up with current trends and activities.

This is my 9th year at Lakewood. I have taught 5th grade Science/S.S. and 4th grade math before I made the transition to G.A.T.E.
