Creative Writing

Creative Writing Magnet students explore all genres of writing as well as the many dimensions of publishing. Students learn the basics of successful writing, so they can develop their own voices as artists. Freshman begin compiling their own literary magazines and continuing working until their senior year when they publish them and have a book signing at our Readers' Theatre event. We have a family atmosphere that allows for honest, constructive criticism with weekly workshops. Students also attend multiple professional workshops throughout the year and go teach local 8th grade students creative writing lessons throughout the city.
