CSM Petty is married to Mrs. Kenyatta Petty and has four beautiful children- Shanika, Keira, Kenneth Jr., and Khari Petty. He officially retired from active service on 30 Jan 2018. His hobbies are watching Netflix, Hulu, Sports, Grilling and spending FT (Family Time).

CSM Kenneth B. Petty Sr. enlisted in the Alabama National  Guard Sept 1989, he attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Ft. Knox,  Kentucky as a 19E (Tanker).  In May 1992, CSM Petty enlisted in the United States Army as an Operating Room Specialist (68D).  He attended Advance  Individual Training (AIT) Phase I at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas and Phase II at  Ft. Rucker, Alabama.  Previous to coming to Lee, he was the JROTC Army Instructor at Daleville High School, Daleville, AL
