Hello! I am Marcia Sutton, principal and proud member of the Montview family. Our school is a warm and welcoming place for every child and every adult who wants to grow and learn. I look forward to each year of teaching, leading, and learning together! Our teachers and staff work very hard to serve Montview students and help them reach their potential.

I have four daughters, three of whom are teachers also. My youngest daughter, Madison, is a graduate student and English teacher at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She painted the “Book Barn” in our kindergarten hallway. Morgan is a counselor in Auburn. Lara and Melanie both teach and have 5 children from ages 2-10. Two summers ago I was able to travel to Europe. Now that the pandemic has impacted the world, I stay close to home enjoying the piano, reading, cooking, sewing and watching football!

The students at our school bring joy and understanding to me every day. Mustangs have a special place in the world! This year we want to “Color Our World a Better Place.” Whether you are a virtual or in-person student, I am thrilled to have you in the Montview family.

Experience

I joined the Montview leadership team in 2017, after 22 years of teaching. My first 8 years were spent as a kindergarten teacher in Morgan County schools. After a seven year break spent at home with children, I returned to teach at Mountain Gap Elementary in Huntsville City. I enjoyed teaching first grade there for 10 years before obtaining an Educational Leadership certification and becoming an administrator. I came to Montview from Providence Elementary, where I spent four years as an Assistant Principal.
