Misty enjoys working with families and students to ensure success of all children, and she is a lifelong learner. She grew up in  Hazel Green, Alabama, and she is a 2000 alumna of Hazel Green High School.  She married her husband Duane McAnally in 2011, he passed away September 2023. She lives in Big Cove, Alabama. Misty enjoys spending time with her  family, cooking, sewing, helping others and being outdoors.

Misty has over 10 years experience working in the school setting. She has experience in several roles within elementary and middle  school education including as a special education teacher, tutor working  with all school-aged students, an instructional assistant in special  education, as a library instructional assistant for Madison County,  Huntsville City and Madison City Schools, A to Z In-Home Tutoring and Tutor  Doctor, Inc. In these positions, she worked with students who had  disabilities including cognitive, emotional, or physical disabilities and  she gave them support so they could complete their learning successfully.  She was responsible for creating a safe, stimulating and supportive  learning environment.
