Congratulations to Ms. Alexandra Stein and Mrs. Natalie Dancy on being voted ASFL Elementary's Teacher of the Year and Support Person of the Year, respectfully. Ms. Stein is a 2nd grade teacher. She has worked here at ASFL since 2018. She is over our school's Peer Helpers program and on our Sunshine Committee. Ms. Stein says that her favorite thing about teaching is "the lightbulb moments when a new concept clicks. It's the joy of making connections, fostering curiosity, and helping develop lifelong learners."
Ms. Dancy is an Instructional Assistant in one of our collaborative classrooms. She has worked in Huntsville City Schools since 2012, working at AAA and Chapman Elementary before coming to ASFL in 2016. She says "Working with special needs children is a rewarding and at times challenging as each child learns differently. However, I am always amazed to see when a child learns a new concept and to see that smile that or hear the words, ' I got it' and to know that you played a part in that." She also love taking the students to the Special Olympics and working with them during Extended School Year.
Congratulations to both of the amazing educators! The love and effort they put into our students and our school are apprecited more than either will ever know!
