Our 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year is our amazing school counselor, Ms. Valena Agee! This is Ms. Agee's 2nd year as our school counselor, after serving as a school counselor in Montgomery since 2005. She has already made a huge impact on our school as a whole. She goes above and beyond for our students planning and organizing school wide events and experiences that are both academic and fun! She is the architect behind our Career Day during our district's College and Career Week, bringing in members of our community to present on their careers to our students. She also organizes our candy grab at the end of Red Ribbon Week, and most recently collaborated with our 5th grade science teacher to organize the Holiday Baking Competition.
Ms. Agee says " I was inspired by my school counselor, who was always so kind and thoughtful. He truly valued what we had to say and motivated us to think about our futures. That experience made me realize I wanted to be a school counselor and make a difference in students' lives. What I love most about my job is spending time with the students. I enjoy creating events based on their interests and working with them to address issues in ways they find meaningful. It’s incredibly rewarding to see their happiness when I bring their ideas to life and show them their voices matter."
