Principal's Message 09-26-23

Thank you to everyone who came to the Grandparents' Breakfast event. A special thank you goes to all our volunteers who helped make it a super fun event on both Sept. 21 & 22.

Friday, September 29th is an e-learning day for all Huntsville City Schools. Be on the lookout for more information from your child’s teacher about this day. All students will receive assignments that will be turned in using the method requested by the classroom teacher. In addition, K-6 classroom teachers will provide support times via Zoom to assist students with instruction, assignments, and/or answer instructional questions the students may have.

Finally, please encourage your child to participate in the fifth annual Blossomwood Fall Break Learning Challenge! It is free, and it is also an easy way for students to earn prizes for simply reading or doing some math for five different times during the break.

Successful Grandparents' Gathering

What a crowd! As you are probably aware, due to the extremely large crowd last year, we decided to divide the great family event into two mornings this year. However, we still had so many people! What a blessing that many schools would love to have.

Grandparents' Breakfast 2023 was so much fun, and it was wonderful having so many of our grandparents on campus. We may have even set a new record!  Our students enjoyed the special family time, too.

Once again, special thanks to our PTA for all of the time and effort in providing another great family event!

Fall Break Learning Challenge

Each year we encourage our students to continue learning during the extended breaks such as Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, etc. This Wednesday, your child should bring home a pink sheet in his/her Blossomwood folder with the directions for participating in the voluntary Fall Break Learning Challenge which includes a reading, math, and family event challenge.

More specifically, one ticket can be earned for completing the reading challenge, one ticket can be earned for completing the math challenge, and/or one ticket can be earned for completing the family challenge. To be clear, the child can choose to do one, two, or all three challenges. We will be giving away several donated prizes including gift cards for ice cream, wireless headphones, etc.

The record sheet (on the back) for the Learning Challenge is due Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, to Dr. Scott. An adult signature is required at the bottom of the completed sheet.

Let's have a great week!
