Principal's Message 09-18-23

September is Attendance Awareness Month. Thank you for helping our teachers by assuring that your student(s) are at school each day. Simply stated, absences add up very quickly. For example, missing only 2 days each month results in a student missing 10% of the school year which can obviously impact both a student's grades and school success.

Managing Our Children's Screen Time

Digital devices are an important part of our world, and they can be appealing to children for educational or informal purposes such as gaming. To assist families with striking a healthy balance, it is recommended that families create a media plan for their family using a few questions:

  • What devices do I want my child to have access to?
  • Where will devices be allowed and where will they be off-limits?
  • How much time will my child be allowed to use them?
  • Will the same rules apply during weekends and school breaks?
  • What content is appropriate for my child to access?
  • How will I maintain consistency?
  • What consequences will there be for misusing devices?
  • What example am I setting through my own use of technology?

National Hispanic Heritage Month

Mrs. Williamson's class kicked off National Hispanic Heritage Month by making sombreros to wear while enjoying churro cupcakes during an afternoon fiesta! Everyone in her class took a swing at the pinata before joining together for an 'Encanto' sing-along. Enjoy some pictures below submitted by Mrs. Williamson!
