Man working on tablet

Dear Blossomwood Families,

We have had a strong first nine weeks, and it has been wonderful having parents and volunteers in the building! Please help us to continue to emphasize a few fundamental elements at both school and home that increase our rate of success. These include, but are not limited to:

  • At lease 8 hours of sleep each night.
  • Reading for 20 minutes each night.
  • Asking questions and listening to our children about their day at school.
  • Encouraging students to push through frustration, especially when learning something new. This is a difficult one for our students as we have become a society that expects quick results for everything. Stamina takes practice and time to build.
  • Celebrating successes regardless of the size!

As always, thank you for all that you do at home to help make Blossomwood a great place for student learning!

Cancer Awareness Walk

Last Friday, we had a wonderful event as we had a Cancer Awareness Walk during our classrooms' P.E. times. Local celebrity and WAFF news anchor, Liz Hurley, provided a special welcome video for Blossomwood students that was shown in our gym prior to going to the track. Everyone was asked to wear pink to show unity, and our PTA provided both music and a huge pink balloon arch for the students to walk through as they entered the track area! In addition, we had tables set up for each student to decorate a card and write a brief encouraging message. The cards will be given to patients at the Clearview Cancer Institute.

Let’s have a great week!
