Dear Blossomwood families,

As we are beginning to experience warmer temperatures outdoors, we have had some issues with students wearing shorts that are too short for school. With many families beginning to purchase new clothes for the warmer temperatures of spring, it is a good time to remind everyone of the Huntsville City Schools dress code that can be found in the Huntsville City Schools Behavior Learning Guide (BLG).

Pants, Shorts, Skorts, Skirts and Dresses:
  • Yoga pants, leggings, or jeggings are permitted. However, the top must cover the student’s bottom

  • Hemlines of all shorts, skorts, skirts, and dresses (including slits) must not be higher than the middle of the thigh

  • Pants or jeans that have holes above the middle of the thigh may only be worn if opaque tights, leggings, or shorts are worn beneath. Holes in pants may not reveal the student’s hips, bottom, or undergarments

  • Students may not wear pajamas (except for special events and/or circumstances that receive administrative approval)

  • Pant legs may not drag on the floor

  • Pants must be secured at the waist

WAAY-31 Meteorologist Visits Blossomwood!

WAAY-31 Meteorologist, Grace Anello, visited our school to be a surprise guest reader as part of the Pawsome Readers program. As you may be aware, Pawsome Readers is a wonderful first grade effort to encourage first grade students to read, read, read which increases their volume of reading as well as their vocabulary and comprehension skills. You can view the article on WAAY31!

Great Job, Josiah Saevarsson!

Congratulations to Josiah Saevarsson who represented Blossomwood Elementary in the Madison County Regional Spelling Bee last week. Josiah finished in the fourth round as one of sixteen spellers left in the bee at that point. The spelling bee began with 52 participants so he did quite well. Josiah, we are so proud of you!
