Dear Blossomwood Families,

I hope you had a great weekend! Our ACAP testing is complete, and it was successful! The teachers have reported that the students' attitude and effort toward the test was excellent as evidenced by them taking their time reading the questions and all of the answer choices. In addition, our students collectively did a great job working out their math problems which is always a good practice.

As we approach the month of May, we want to remind every family about the importance of student attendance. Our school goal is 95% for our attendance for the year. Unfortunately, we have slipped to slightly under that with 94.7 %. So, we need your help by encouraging your child to be here each day unless he/she is sick.

If you have not done so already, please remember to register your child for the next school year. Emails were sent out again recently to anyone who has not yet registered their child. The email was sent from hcsregister@regmail.powerschool.com and the subject was "Huntsville City School District Returning Student Registration for _____" Please check your spam/junk folders for this email. If you have already registered your child, you would not have received an email. If you have not registered your child and you did not receive an email, please call our front office one day this week to receive your registration information. Remember you will need a digital copy of your utility bill as a proof of residency when registering your child(ren), so be sure to have it handy.

Thank You to Therapy Partners of Huntsville

For the last two years, Mrs. Fitzgerald, one of our first-grade teachers, has asked the WAGS program to Blossomwood through Therapy Partners-Huntsville. The WAGS (Wait and Greet Safely) program has been a highlight for our students. In the program, trained dogs and their trainers teach children what to do if you come across an unknown dog. The trainers teach them how to be safe, avoid unwanted contact from a dog, and how to ask to pet someone else's dog. At the end of the program, the students are allowed to visit with each dog.

Blossomwood students greet a WAGS dog that is being held by a WAGS staff member.Let's have another great week!
Sincerely,
Bradley A. Scott, Ed.D.
