Greetings Chaffee Families,

I hope your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our students have 14.5 school days left this semester, and we need to make the most of these days. Students should be at school each day unless excluded for sickness. Excessive absenteeism has a negative impact on a student’s academic, social, and mental health growth. If your child is absent, please email or send an excuse note within 2 days of the absence. Students should arrive to school by 8am daily. Repeated tardiness has a negative impact on learning as our teachers begin teaching promptly at 8am. Being tardy also prevents students from eating breakfast as breakfast ends at 8am. We want all of our students at school ready to learn each day so that they have the best possible education that they can have. We love them and miss them when they are not with us! Please reach out if you have questions about attendance or tardiness.

This Tuesday night is our North Pole Musical, 6pm at Trinity Methodist Church! All students in grades 2-5 are welcome to participate in the musical, but attendance is not required. Parents must provide transportation to and from Trinity United Methodist Church. Join us for this fun event to kick off the holiday season! Students may wear their best winter colors or dress as elves, snowmen, reindeer, or toys and should be inside the church by 5:45pm. Students who have special speaking/acting parts have their own instructions regarding arrival time and what to wear. Even if you do not have a student in grades 2-5, your family is still welcome to attend and enjoy this special program! We can’t wait to see you there!

Lost & Found is full!! Please remind your child(ren) to go by and collect their missing items before everything is donated on December 15!

Our November Attendance Challenge is underway! The grade level with the best attendance will win a pajama and popcorn party. The class with the best attendance will win a bonus recess with ring pops! You are welcome to reach out to Nurse Julie if you are ever in doubt about your child’s symptoms. Every school day is full of learning that cannot be replicated outside of school, and we don’t want our students to fall behind. Thank you for showing your child that excellent school attendance is a priority.

Soar Eagles,

April Clark

North Pole Musical

All Chaffee 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are invited to perform in the North Pole Musical on November 28. 2023, at 6:00pm at Trinity UMC on Airport Road. Students should be in the sanctuary ready to perform at 5:45pm. This will be a special evening for the students. Everyone is invited to come see what the kids have been busy preparing!

Students may wear their best winter colors or dress as elves, snowmen, reindeer, or toys. Students who have special speaking/acting parts have their own instructions regarding arrival time and what to wear.

"Everyone is in a panic getting ready for the 400th Anniversary of the North Pole Musical! The dancing reindeer are "hoofin" it but don't know what to do with Rudolph and his four left hooves. The elves are tired of always getting the short end of the stick, and are singin' the blues. The snowmen are "chillin", but worried about the funky hot lights, and the the toys are falling over themselves to get it right. The annual Christmas show keeps getting bigger and bigger, but wait a minute! Is the bigger really better? See how Santa finds a way to remind everyone of the true meaning of the season."

We hope to see you there!

What's Up in P.E?

Hello Golden Eagles! It's Coach B. Last month we had lots of fun working on movement concepts with games like capture the flag and tag. This month, we will be completing the Alabama Physical Fitness Assessment. The Fitness Assessment involves running a mile, push-ups, sit-ups, and the sit-and-reach. Make sure students come to school prepared to do their best !
