On Thursday, January 2nd, Chaffee first graders kicked off their Eagle Readers challenge with a parade. For the next ten weeks they will, "Catch the Reading Wave" and be intentional about reading books at home. Each book read will be represented by a link that will be on display in the hallway. We can't wait to see how much their links will grown in the next few weeks. If you would like to support our first grade Eagle Readers please visit The Eagle Reader Amazon Wishlist. The items purchased will be used as incentives for students that are reaching their goals. Each incentive will be delivered by our Chaffee reading fairies. A special thank you to Mrs. Sarah Cothren, our clerical assistant, for making sure that our students have great incentives to look forward to. We also appreciate our first grade teachers, Ms. Green, Mrs. Quattlebaum, and Ms. Wall for all of their hard work in preparation for such a great kick-off.
