Greetings Chaffee Families,

Last week we kicked off our spring fundraiser, the Eagle Run. The Eagle Run will be held this Thursday! Please consider volunteering to help—we need you! Eagle Run Volunteer Sign-Up Link Every student will run in the Eagle Run and will receive a free shirt. There are other prizes to be earned as students get donations. Our goal is to raise $15,000, and we have already reached almost 15% of this goal. Our students are very excited for the Eagle Run, and we hope that you are too.

ACAP testing is complete! Thank you for ensuring your child was at school for these important test sessions.

Author and Illustrator Jonathan Miller will visit our school tomorrow to read to all students. His books are available for purchase using the order form sent home with students. There is an additional copy below in case you need it. All orders are due the morning of Monday, April 22.

K for a Day is Tuesday, April 30. Please tell your friends who have rising kindergarten students. The flyer is below.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is May 6-10. More details will be shared later. I hope you will join in and help our teachers feel loved all week! We would love to have you volunteer to assist with Duty Free Lunch Duty Free Lunch Volunteer Sign-Up Link and to donate a gift card Gift Card Donation Link for our faculty and staff. Thank you to everyone who has already signed up!

Our monthly attendance challenge is underway! The grade level with the best attendance this month wins a cookie party and extra recess. Third grade is currently in the lead with kindergarten close behind! Students should be at school unless they are excluded for illness. Please send an excuse note/email or call the front office following each absence so that the absence can be coded as excused when possible. Thank you for your continued help with this!

Our Awards Day Celebrations will be held in May. Please see the graphic below for grade level specific times. Students can earn the following awards: All As, All As & Bs, Excellent Attendance, i-Ready Reading/Math Growth, and Governors’ Physical Fitness. There will be other awards given specific to each grade level. We hope that you can join us to celebrate our students.

We still have families who need to complete registration for the 2024-25 school year. Please encourage your friends to register as soon as possible. You can reach out to Ms. Cothren with any questions. Please complete registration as soon as possible so that we can better plan for next year.
