On Monday, April 23rd, Chaffee students were visited by Jonathan Miller, author of "The Adventures of Sammy the Wonder Dachshund." Jonathan Miller is an artist with a business degree from the College of Charleston. He decided to use an art form he’d been playing with—layering construction paper and card stock into colorful, often comical designs—to create a children’s book based on the spunky weenie dog. The Adventures of Sammy the Wonder Dachshund series debuted in 2008 with Sammy’s Last Week in Charleston. Next came Sammy on Safari, in Space, and A History of Wonder Dachshunds. Miller’s fifth book will be released in Spring 2024.
Chaffee students were able to ask questions, hear his story on how he became an author, and were read Sammy in Space.
