Greetings Chaffee Families,

Hasn’t this weather been wonderful? It is finally feeling like fall, and I love it! Our Fall Festival is coming up on November 1, and we need volunteers to make this event possible. Volunteer here!

We had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Thank you to everyone who participated!

We hope to see you Tuesday evening at Chaffee Curriculum Night. We will discuss the Alabama Literacy Act, especially how it relates to 3rd grade, testing platforms, and curriculum.

Grissom High School is celebrating Homecoming this week. The Homecoming Parade is Thursday and begins at Chaffee at 5pm. Please support the entire Grissom feeder pattern by watching the parade as it begins at Chaffee, moves through the Chaffee neighborhood, and ends at Grissom High School. Thursday is Chaffee School Spirit Day. We want to see our students wearing a Chaffee shirt or their grade level color!

This week is National School Lunch Week, and the theme is “School Lunch Pirates: Find Your Treasure.” We appreciate the lunches our Cafeteria Nutrition Program provides each day. On Friday students are invited to dress as pirates to celebrate National School Lunch Week.

We can't wait to host our Grandparent's Lunch Thursday! Lunch orders were due October 9. At this time we cannot accept any additional orders. Guests should arrive 15-20 minutes before the grade level lunch time and check in at the front office with his/her identification. Guests will be directed to wait in a designated location until they are called to the cafeteria. The Book Fair will be open for shopping too!

Please remember that students need tennis shoes/sneakers for PE daily. Wearing proper shoes prevents injuries.

We reached $10,000 during the Eagle Run! We will have our Dinosaur Race this week! Thank you to everyone who raised money for our school!
