Greetings Chaffee Families,
Happy Veterans Day! On Friday we honored our Veterans with a program and parade. I am so grateful for the sacrifices these individuals have made for our country, and I am thankful that we were able to recognize them at school. Thank you to our entire Veterans Day Committee and our PTA board and members for planning and executing this event. We look forward to doing it again next year!
At this time we are taking nominations for the Chaffee Teacher of the Year and Chaffee Support Person of the Year. Please email me by Thursday, November 13, with any nominations you or your child(ren) would like to put forward (April.Clark@hsv-k12.org).
Our Penguin Patch Holiday Shop will be open December 2-6, and we need volunteers (parent, guardians, grandparents, etc.) to help students shop. Please volunteer here. You will love shopping with our students!
We will have a Chuck E. Cheese Spirit Night this Friday Night at Chuck E. Cheese on Jordan Lane. I hope to see your family there!
During the month of November I like to reflect on the things for which I’m thankful. I am so thankful to be a part of the Chaffee Family. The students, teachers, support staff, and families are a joy to work with. Chaffee is a wonderful place to be! Please join me in sending thankful sentiments to our faculty and staff this month—a nice note or email goes a long way in helping a person feel valued.
We need students at school every day unless they have symptoms of sickness (fever, vomiting, or other contagious symptoms). You are welcome to reach out to Nurse Cat if you are ever in doubt about your child’s symptoms. Every school day is full of learning that cannot be replicated outside of school, and we don’t want our students to fall behind. Thank you for showing your child that excellent school attendance is a priority.
Soar Eagles,
April Clark
