Greetings CES Families,

We hope to complete all ACAP Testing this week! Our 4th and 5th graders will complete ACAP testing on April 16-17, and we will complete make up testing throughout the week for any students who were absent on testing days. See the schedule below for all test dates. Please make sure students arrive to school on time, eat a healthy breakfast at home or at school, and have their charged laptop. Please encourage your child to do his/her best.

Are you interested in serving on the PTA Board next year? We have the following positions open: President, Vice President of Programs, Secretary, and Treasurer. Please email Amber Isenhower at president@chaffeepta.com if you’re interested. We need you!

April is the Month of the Military Child! We ask that students, faculty, and staff wear purple this Tuesday to show support of our military-connected students. Students will participate in a school-wide Career Fair on this day. Thank you to our school counselor, Ms. Burwell, for organizing this event for students.

Friday, April 18, is an eLearning Day for students. Students will complete work assigned by teachers, and teachers will have times students can contact them for assistance. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have questions or need assistance.

Do you want to help with our Spring Book Fair? Be sure to Volunteer!

K for a Day is Friday, April 25. Please tell your friends who have rising kindergarten students so that they can register to attend this fun and informative event.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5-9, and we are collecting gift cards so that each faculty and staff member receives one. I hope you will join in and help our teachers feel loved all week!

Please sign up to donate a gift card or cash to be used toward a gift card.

Our monthly attendance challenge is underway! Students who have 100% attendance for the month of April will enjoy a popcorn and movie party. Students will also have their name put in a drawing each day they’re at school this month, and we will draw names to win prizes at the end of the month—the more a student comes to school, the higher probability that their name will be drawn. As a reminder, students should be at school unless they are excluded for illness. Please send an excuse note/email or call the front office following each absence so that the absence can be coded as excused when possible. Thank you for your continued help with this!

Our Awards Day Celebrations will be held in May. Students can earn the following awards: All As, All As & Bs, Excellent Attendance, i-Ready Reading/Math Growth, and Governors’ Physical Fitness. There will be other awards given specific to each grade level. We hope that you can join us to celebrate our students.

We still have families who need to complete registration for the 2025-26 school year. Please encourage your friends to register as soon as possible. You can reach out to Ms. Cothren or Ms. Carter with any questions. Please complete registration as soon as possible so that we can better plan for next year.

Soar Eagles,

April Clark
