CHS Staffers Take Part in Charity Softball Game

Assistant Principals David Coker, Donna Peavy and English teacher, Morgan McCants got a chance to support a worthy cause at the home of the Rocket City Trash Pandas.

The Enrichment Center held its first-ever charity softball game at Toyota Field. The game raised money for youth mental health services. The Enrichment Center, a nonprofit mental health agency that provides school-based mental health therapy to children and teens.

Our school benefits from having a TEC therapist (Verilynn Ferrell) who is on hand and available everyday to provide cost-free mental health therapy to our students. As Columbia HS and HCS employees, we wanted to bring awareness to the organization's mission, show appreciation for the partnership between HCS and TEC, and most importantly to help fundraise for the event so that our students may continue to have access to their services.

The Charity Classic Softball Game took place on Saturday, April 15.
