As we approach the holidays, Columbia High school students exemplified empathy and compassion for others by raising money for students in the Huntsville city community. The Salvation Army Christmas Tree Angel Project was chosen as a community project by the Future Teachers of Alabama students - FTA. They adopted two Salvation Army angels, a young boy and girl, ages 6 and 7.

Columbia High School students demonstrated a spirit of service by actively assisting each other in this service of giving. They came together as a student body and collected over $450 from students, faculty, and staff. The students dedicated time to fundraise, shop, purchase, and deliver all the Christmas gifts for the two young angels in need, to the Salvation Army Christmas Tree Angel drop off location. The two angels received everything and more on their lists. This heartwarming initiative showcased their commitment to spreading joy and making a positive impact in the lives of others during the holiday season.

Whether through organizing festive events, providing support to those in need, or fostering a sense of community to serve others, these students exemplified the importance of camaraderie and generosity during this holiday season. I am so proud of our students.

Wishing you all joy and warmth this festive season. ❤️
