Selected cadets from the Columbia High School JROTC “Eagle Battalion” participated in the Annual JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) Camp at the 4H Center in Columbiana, AL from 31 May – 3 June 2024. Cadets spent four days learning leadership development, engaging in various brigade-level experiences and fun challenges at JCLC Camp.

The Cadets reported and processed on Friday.  They were organized into three companies of two platoons each and were split up with Cadets from the other 15 schools.  This is important as it allowed the cadets the opportunity to get to know and work with other Cadets who they had never met before.  Throughout the course of the week, most Cadets served in a leadership role at least once and most of them several times.  Leadership positions from squad leader to battalion commander changed daily.

Columbia High School Cadets stood out at camp by wining in numerous categories as members of several teams: 1st Place Color Guard, Cadet Jamison Holloway; 2nd Place Color Guard Team 3 Cadet Tamson Julme and Cadet Keaton Knowles; 3rd Place Color Guard Team 5 Cadet Fawensky Julme; 2nd Place Drill Team 2 Cadet Blake Simmons; 3rd Place Drill Team 6 Cadets Jessalyn Rose and Cadet Giovanni Nava.

Please join me in congratulating these Cadets for a job well done.
