4 students standing around a lab table with microscope learning about chromosomes at HudsonAlpha Institute

Ms. Formby's AP Biology and Honors Biology students visited HudsonAlpha to participate in the "Cytogeneticist For A Day" lab experience.

Cytogenetics is the study of chomosomes, which are microscopic structures that contain DNA and are found in the nucleus of a cell. It's a branch of genetics and cell biology that examines how chromosomes relate to cell behavior, especially during cell division.

The students had fun while learning all about cytogenetics!
