Dear Charger Families and Stakeholders,
This week marks the first full week of Black History Month. As we recognize Black History Month in the month of February, our focus will be on celebrating African American History and Culture. The theme for Chapman's Black History Month this year is- History in the Making. Join the Chapman community as we recognize transformative, African American leaders in history. Learn how these transformative leaders have inspired current scholars to make positive changes in their own community. The month of February also highlights National School Counseling week.
Learning Corner
Part of the I am Excellent affirmation that our scholars recite every morning states- "I know the past, I embrace the present, because I am the future." Knowing your past builds pride in who you are and allows you to understand the present better. Being able to embrace the present means living in the moment. When scholars realize that they are the future it should motivate them in knowing they have the POWER to shape their own destiny.
