Dear Charger Families and Stakeholders,
This week highlights the culmination of Black History Month. The Black History Month theme - History in the Making - is a reminder that Black History and Culture extend beyond just a single month. As scholars our students are always learning and growing. When our scholars take ownership of their current actions, they are preparing to make history through whom and what they aspire to become in the future. Visionary Show Maker, Natasha Tsakos states, "It's no longer history in the making. It's our story we are making." Let's support our scholars as they create their own stories. Chapman Middle's Black History Month program will take place Wednesday, February 28th.
Learning Corner
Your current reality can become a historical past when there is a realization and intentionality in defining who we are and what we are doing. Our school affirmation states, "I know the past, I embrace the present, because I am the future." To embrace the present means mindfulness - being fully aware and attentive to the here and now. When there is an awareness of who you are and what your purpose is in life, there is confidence in your future aspirations.
Check out this week's newsletter to learn about how Chapman Scholars' actions are embracing the present and preparing them for the future.
