Dear Charger Families and Stakeholders,
This week is the first full week of March and the celebration of Women's History Month. Scholars learned from last months' Black History theme, History in the Making, that they have the POWER to create their future and leave a historical past. As we move forward let's connect the History in the Making theme to this month, by recognizing current Women who are making history. This Women's History Month, Chapman Middle will highlight current Women in our Huntsville community who are making history. Also this month, social workers are being recognized and celebrated for all that they do. A reminder that this Friday, March 8th is an e-learning day for all scholars and spring break begins March 11th. Their will also be an important parent/stakeholders zoom meeting on March 6th at 9am and 5pm.
Learning Corner
Striving for Excellence means being open to learning from others. Empathy is part of the POWER matrix that requires scholars to place themselves in other people's shoes. Meryl Streep states, "The great gift of human beings is that we have the POWER of empathy, we can all sense a mysterious connection to each other." Our learning focus this week is to activate empathy in order to make connections to the stories of local women leaders in our community who are making history. Cultivating a learning environment that uplifts women from all walks of life by celebrating their strengths and sharing their stories creates meaningful connections.
Check out this week's newsletter to learn how Chapman Scholars are showing empathy through meaningful connections to local women, making history in their community.
