While Americans flocked to the polls to select the nation's next leaders, Ms. Milligan's class participated in a unique voting experience of their own. In this engaging classroom activity, students took part in the process of naming their class fish. They learned how to navigate the nomination process, deliver persuasive speeches in support of their chosen names, and ultimately cast their votes.

After much enthusiasm and deliberation, the name "Coco" emerged as the winner, bringing joy to the class fish in its new environment.

Beyond naming their aquatic companion, students participated in a variety of hands-on activities that deepened their understanding of the privilege that all Americans enjoy in exercising their right to vote. This experience not only fostered engagement but also provided valuable insights into the democratic process.
