US Space and Rocket Center portable planetarium dome is set up in the gym for students to explore the night sky.

Recently, the 6th-grade students had an exciting opportunity to explore the night sky with the help of a portable planetarium from the US Space and Rocket Center. Set up in the gym, the planetarium provided an immersive experience where students learned to navigate the night sky. They identified key celestial landmarks that are essential for recognizing constellations and planets visible from Earth. This hands-on learning experience allowed them to deepen their understanding of astronomy and develop their observational skills.

The journey through space was a highlight for the students as they got a closer look at planets, distant galaxies, and nebulae. Utilizing stunning images from the Hubble and Webb telescopes, the planetarium brought the wonders of the universe to life. The excitement in the gym was palpable, with students actively engaged and eager to share their newfound knowledge about space exploration. This enriching experience not only sparked their curiosity but also fostered a sense of wonder about the cosmos. An up-close picture of a nebulae students observed while in the planetarium.
