Students from the Medical Detectives class recently went on an exciting field trip to HudsonAlpha, a leading biotechnology research facility. During their visit, they explored the fascinating world of biotechnology, gaining insights into its various applications. One of the key topics covered was food genetics, where students learned how biotechnology can be used to develop more resilient agricultural products. This hands-on experience allowed the students to connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications, enhancing their understanding of the subject matter.

Under the guidance of Ms. Moncur, this dynamic group of 7th and 8th graders explores a wide range of topics throughout their curriculum. The field trip to HudsonAlpha not only sparked their interest in biotechnology but also encouraged critical thinking about the future of food production and sustainability. Engaging activities and expert discussions provided the students with a deeper appreciation for the role of science in our everyday lives, fostering a passion for exploration and discovery in the field of medical science.
