Hello Challenger Elementary Family,
We are excited to start another great week with our CES scholars!
Beginning of the year assessments are being conducted. K-5th grade students are completing STAR Reading, K-3rd grade students are completing Penmanship Pre-Test Assessments, and iReady testing will begin this week. K-5th grade students will participate in DIBELS testing at a later date.
Daily instruction begins promptly at 8 a.m. Most classes start reading instruction at 8 a.m., so your child(ren) must be at school on time each day.
Tardy and attendance letters will be going out weekly starting this week. Please remember that we can only accept up to 7 parent excuses per school year. Also, vacations/trips are not excused absences. Late check-ins and early check-outs can cause disruptions to your child's learning. Please be mindful of this as you plan. Please see the HCS year calendar for our scheduled breaks. Please submit your excuses to the front office or email them to Kendra Humphrey and Danna Freeman. Please include your child's classroom teacher as well.
