Hello Challenger Elementary Family,
I pray everyone had a great weekend! Here’s to a great week of learning and growing at CES!

Course Registration for Current 5th Grade Students for the 2023-2024 School Year – RISING 6th Grade Students

Parents of current 5th grade students at Challenger Elementary and Farley Elementary Schools are invited to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 5:30 in the Challenger Middle School AV room. Mrs. Hall, the counselor, will cover information such as honors and regular core courses, elective options, and what to expect in 6th grade. She will be visiting CES and FES the week of February 20th to share information with students. We hope you will plan to attend this meeting to help your students prepare for attending middle
school in the fall!
You can contact Ms. Hall with any questions.

Valentine's Day Parties

Class parties will be held February 14th - Parents are allowed to send store bought, unopened items (ex: cupcakes) to share with the classmates. Please remember we do not allow homemade food items to be shared with other students. A parent can send homemade items for his/her child only. Teachers should not provide homemade or baked items as well. Please ensure you are aware of any food allergies.

Weekly Upcoming Dates & Reminders:

• Tissue & Clorox Wipes Drive for CES Faculty & Staff – entire month
• 14th - Valentine’s Day Party
• 15th - National Campus Security Officer Appreciation Day
• 17th - National Acts of Kindness Day

Daily instruction begins at 8am. Please have your child to school prior to 8am. We know and understand events may take place that can prevent your child(ren) from attending school, such as a sickness, but be sure to send in excuse notes/letters to Mrs. Freeman and Ms. Humphrey in the front office as soon as possible following their absence. Tardy and attendance letters will be go out weekly. Please remember that we can only accept up to 7 parent excuses per school year. Also, vacations/trips cannot be approved as an excused absence. Late check-in and early check-out can cause disruptions to your child's learning. Please be mindful of this as you plan. Please see HCS year calendar for our scheduled breaks.
