Hello Challenger Elementary Family,
January is School Board Recognition Month and Gifted Education Month! I would like to take this time to recognition our very own, District 3 Huntsville City School Board Member, Ms. Andrea Alvarez and our fantastic Gifted Teachers! Ms. Alvarez, Mrs. Cottingham, and Mrs. Wortendyke work tirelessly for our students! Please join us in celebrating them by sending in sweet notes and/or treats from your child(ren) to show them
appreciation.
We will be celebrating the 100th Day of School tomorrow, Monday, January 23rd, 2023. Students may dress up like they are 100 years old! We would love to see how creative your children can be. We can’t wait to celebrate!

• January 27th - Monthly PBIS Celebration - concessions will be sold

Daily instruction begins at 8am. Please have your child to school prior to 8am. We know and understand events may take place that can prevent your child(ren) from attending school, such as a sickness, but be sure to send in excuse notes/letters to Mrs. Freeman and Ms. Humphrey in the front office as soon as possible  following their absence. Tardy and attendance letters will be going out weekly starting this week. Please   remember that we can only accept up to 7 parent excuses per school year. Also, vacations/trips cannot be approved as an excused absence. Late check-in and early check-out can cause disruptions to your child's learning. Please be mindful of this as you plan.
