Hello Challenger Elementary Family,
I hope you had a terrific holiday break with family and friends. I am excited to see everyone back at school tomorrow and even more excited to get back to instruction with our students!
The season is changing, and so is the weather. Please be sure your child comes to school each day with clothes appropriate for the weather. If the weather and temperatures permit, students may go outside for PE and recess. Be sure they are prepared!
We want to give a big shout-out to our wonderful PTA for all the fantastic things they do! We could not do this without them!
Daily instruction begins at 8 am. Please have your scholar(s) to school before 8 am. Tardy and attendance letters will go out weekly. Please remember that we can only accept up to 7 parent excuses per school year. Also, vacations/trips cannot be approved as an excused absence. Late check-in and early check-out can cause disruptions to your scholar's learning. Please be mindful of this as you plan. Please see the HCS year calendar for our scheduled breaks.
We have many students reaching a concerning number of absences. Please be sure your scholar(s) are at school daily. This is vital for their success. Please send excuses to the front office.
There are many events taking place during the 2nd 9-week grading period. Please read the newsletter each week so you get all the essential information.
