Greetings Challenger Family,

I hope you had a fantastic weekend!

Daily instruction begins at 8am. Please have your child to school prior to 8am. We know and understand events may take place that can prevent your child(ren) from attending school, such as a sickness, but be sure to send in excuse notes/letters to the front office as soon as possible following their absence. Tardy and attendance letters will be go out weekly. Please remember that we can only accept up to 7 parent excuses per school year. Also, vacations/trips cannot be approved as an excused absence. Late check-in and early check-out can cause disruptions to your child's learning. Please be mindful of this as you plan. Please see HCS year calendar for our scheduled breaks.

We have many students reaching a critical number of absences. Please be sure your scholar(s) are at school daily. If your child is absent, please send excuses to the front office.

As we navigate through the winter season, it’s essential to stay informed about potential weather impacts on the school day. We have updated protocols to enhance communication between the district and our families, ensuring you have ample notice to plan accordingly.

For accurate and timely information, please check our district website, our Facebook and Instagram pages, and local media stations. Additionally, notifications will be sent via email, phone calls, and text messages. Ensure your information is current and up-to-date on PowerSchool to receive weather notifications. Do not hesitate to contact the school if you need PowerSchool assistance. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities, and we appreciate your cooperation during inclement weather situations.

And as always, we cannot express our appreciation to our dedicated Challenger community. It is truly a joy working alongside you, helping our scholars grow!

Here’s to a great week of learning and growing at CES!

Love you all!!
Ms. Joiner
